FAQ

Questions Guests Ask at the Desk

Pulled straight from what our front desk fields most often, phone or in person.

When can I check in?

Rooms are ready starting at 4 in the afternoon, and we ask that you're out by 11 the next morning. Running early or late? Text or call the front desk — we can usually make it work if the room's not already booked for a same-day arrival.

Where do I park?

Drive yourself and park in our covered garage at no charge, whether you're staying overnight or just stopping by the gaming floor. Hand your keys to the valet stand out front if you'd rather not deal with it — that runs a nightly fee for overnight guests.

Can my kids come with me?

Bring the whole family. The pool, both restaurants outside The Bonanza Chophouse, the bathhouse lobby, and every guest room are open to any age. The one line drawn is the gaming floor itself, where South Dakota law keeps things 21 and up.

Does the pool close in the winter?

Nope. It's under a glass roof year-round, so a January snowstorm outside doesn't change anything about swimming inside. The outdoor terrace next to it does shut down once the weather turns, usually reopening around May.

Are there deals that bundle a room with other stuff?

Regularly. We rotate a handful of bundled offers — spa credit, dining credit, table-game match-play — and keep the current lineup posted on the packages page.

Can I bring my dog?

A small block of rooms is set aside for guests traveling with pets, and there's a cleaning fee attached once you check out. Call ahead rather than showing up and hoping — that block fills fast.

What if I use a wheelchair?

The whole property is built for it: ramps and elevators throughout, reserved parking near the front door, a lift at the pool, and accessible rooms held back specifically for guests who need them.

Do I need a reservation to eat here?

The Bonanza Chophouse fills up on weekend nights, so book ahead if that's the plan. Miner's Table, Whitewood Creek Grill, and The Nugget Rooftop don't take reservations — just show up, though you might wait a few minutes on a busy Saturday.

Can you host a wedding?

Regularly, and at nearly any scale. Our event team has run everything from a dozen people in a private dining room to nearly 300 for a full ballroom reception. Capacities and layouts are on the event venues page.

How do I get here from the airport?

Rapid City Regional Airport is the closest, a bit under an hour by car. If you're flying into Denver instead, plan on roughly a five-hour drive north — some guests break it up with a night in the Black Hills along the way.
