Deadwood's event calendar runs heavier in the warmer months, but a few dates shape the whole year for us — both in terms of what's happening around town and what our own dining rooms and gaming floor plan around.

Late July: Days of '76

The town's signature annual event, combining a professional rodeo with a downtown parade featuring horse-drawn vehicles from the Days of '76 Museum's collection. Rooms book out weeks in advance for this one — if it's the reason for your trip, reserve as early as you can.

Early August: Motorcycle Season Spillover

Deadwood sits close enough to the regional motorcycle rally scene that early August brings a noticeable uptick in riders passing through, even though the main rally grounds are elsewhere in the Hills. Main Street gets louder and livelier for about a week, and our rooftop saloon tends to be the busiest spot in the building.

September – October: Quiet Season Events

With the summer crowds gone, fall brings smaller, more local events — live music nights at The Nugget Rooftop, seasonal menu launches at The Bonanza Chophouse, and occasional history walking tours organized through the Adams Museum.

December: Main Street Holiday Lighting

Deadwood leans into its historic architecture for the holidays, with string lighting along Main Street's original storefronts running from late November through early January. It's a quiet, atmospheric time to visit if you don't mind the cold.
